R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The retirement of James Allen "Jim" Terrell as vice
principal of Holmes High School brings to a close a distinguished
30-year tenure with San Antonio's Northside Independent School
District; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman attended Trinity University
and graduated from Texas A&I University before beginning his
impressive career in education in 1974; and
WHEREAS, After teaching social studies at Horace Mann Middle
School and Stevenson Middle School for nearly a decade, Mr. Terrell
became vice principal of Holmes High School, and in the ensuing 22
years his leadership and dedication have been invaluable to the
growth and development of countless young Texans; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Terrell has tirelessly devoted his time and
energy to the educational development of students of the Northside
Independent School District, and although his retirement will leave
a void, his legacy of excellence will continue to benefit students
and teachers there for many years to come; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend James Allen "Jim"
Terrell for his many years of dedication as an educator and an
administrator and extend to him best wishes for a happy and
fulfilling retirement; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Terrell as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
