R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Annabel Holguin truly merits special recognition 
for her 25 years of service to the city of Alpine; and
	WHEREAS, Hired as a city clerk in 1979, Ms. Holguin was given 
the title of municipal court clerk the following year; in 1985, the 
Alpine City Council appointed Ms. Holguin as city secretary, a 
position she has served in with distinction ever since; she 
completed a city secretary certification program through North 
Texas State University in 1990; and
	WHEREAS, While working for the city council, the mayor, and 
the city manager can be challenging, Ms. Holguin acknowledges that 
she is happiest when she is busy; at various times, she has served 
temporary stints as police dispatcher, interim municipal court 
judge, and, most recently, acting city manager; and
	WHEREAS, In her leisure time, Ms. Holguin enjoys jogging, 
biking, hiking, camping, softball, and motorcycle travel; a music 
lover, she is currently learning to play the guitar, and for the 
past 10 years she has sung with the choir at Our Lady of Peace 
Catholic Church; and
	WHEREAS, This dedicated professional undoubtedly plays a 
pivotal role in ensuring that Alpine city government runs smoothly 
and efficiently, and it is a pleasure to recognize her expertise and 
her years of reliable service to the community; now, therefore, be 
it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Annabel Holguin for 
her 25 years of service to the city of Alpine and extend to her best 
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Ms. Holguin as an expression of high regard by the 
Texas House of Representatives.
