R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Chris Parker and Jeff Offield displayed great 
bravery and quick thinking in saving the life of a fellow Texan, and 
for their heroic actions they have earned the Lifesaving Award from 
the city of Pflugerville; and
	WHEREAS, On April 14, 2004, Chante Davis's car stalled at a 
low water crossing in the midst of a heavy rainstorm, and then a 
rush of water lifted her car from the road; trapped in the vehicle, 
the frightened woman waited to be rescued; and
	WHEREAS, City of Pflugerville employees Mr. Parker and Mr. 
Offield spotted Ms. Davis as they approached to barricade the 
street; immediately realizing the gravity of the situation, these 
bold gentlemen disregarded their own safety and quickly pulled her 
from the car; and
	WHEREAS, This act of unflinching bravery averted a tragedy, 
and the spirit of selflessness demonstrated by Chris Parker and 
Jeff Offield truly merits our highest praise; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas 
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby honor Chris Parker and Jeff 
Offield for their courageous actions and extend to them sincere 
best wishes for happiness and good fortune; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared 
for Mr. Parker and Mr. Offield as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
