R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Brenna Jackson and Jennifer Flack from Rider High
School in Wichita Falls captured the 2004 UIL girls' Class 4A
doubles tennis championship with a hard-fought 2-6, 7-5, 6-3
triumph over a tough Highland Park High School team; and
WHEREAS, These two talented young women demonstrated
determination and strength of character as they rallied to victory
after losing the first set of the best-of-three match; their win
represents Rider's first title since 1999; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Flack is a junior and looks forward to defending
her title next year; her partner, Ms. Jackson, capped her high
school career by taking the gold medal after previously winning two
bronze medals and one silver medal; and
WHEREAS, Teamwork and perseverance personify these teen
tennis sensations, and their outstanding efforts are indeed
deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 78th Texas
Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby congratulate Brenna
Jackson and Jennifer Flack on winning the 2004 UIL girls' Class 4A
doubles tennis championship and extend best wishes to them for
continued success in all their endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Jackson and Ms. Flack as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
