SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 28
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize the Lopez High School Band of the Brownsville
Independent School District on its selection as the 2003 State
4A Honor Band by the Texas Music Educators Association; and
WHEREAS, The Lopez High School Band has consistently
performed at levels of excellence since the high school opened in
1993, and it has continued to receive wide recognition on the
concert stage as well as in the marching arena; and
WHEREAS, By earning this honor from the Texas Music
Educators Association, band members, under the expert guidance
and leadership of directors George Trevino, Adam Kramer, and
Javier Bermudez, have demonstrated their dedication, hard work,
and commitment to excellence, and they can be justly proud of
their accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, The Lopez High School Band is a source of much
pride to the school, the district, and the community, and its
members and band directors deserve recognition for their
exceptional performances and achievements in 2003; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend band
members and directors of the Lopez High School Band for their
exemplary work and extend to them congratulations on the band's
selection by the Texas Music Educators Association as the 2003
State 4A Honor Band; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the band as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
