SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 45
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Dr. Jim Gibson for his dedication to the field of
education and his outstanding leadership as superintendent of
the Cedar Hill Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Gibson arrived in Cedar Hill with an
extensive background in education, having served in administrative
positions in schools in Texas, Arizona, and California; he
holds a master's degree and a doctoral degree in educational
administration; and
WHEREAS, He was principal of Highland Park High School in
Dallas from 1986 to 1990; he then served as superintendent of a
California school district for four years before returning to
Texas; he was superintendent for the Clear Creek and Huffman
independent school districts before accepting his position with
Cedar Hill Independent School District; and
WHEREAS, Under his leadership, the Cedar Hill Independent
School District has continued to grow and has developed into a
first-rate educational system; demonstrating his commitment
to quality education, Dr. Gibson sets high standards for
both students and faculty and provides an environment that is
conducive to learning; and
WHEREAS, A talented and exemplary superintendent,
Jim Gibson has made a positive impact on the lives of innumerable
students, their families, and the community, and he deserves
recognition for his accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Dr. Jim Gibson
for his invaluable contributions to the Cedar Hill Independent
School District and the community; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
