SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 68
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Reverend T. C. Lister, Sr., on the occasion of his
retirement after 22 years as pastor of Clinton Park United
Methodist Church in Houston; and
WHEREAS, In honor of Reverend Lister's many years of
faithful service, the church is having a retirement and worship
celebration on Saturday, May 15, 2004, at Brady's Landing
Restaurant; and
WHEREAS, A man of spiritual depth and devotion,
Pastor Lister has performed innumerable ceremonies and has
prayed for and counseled his church members during their
hardships and in times of bereavement; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Lister has been a source of enlightenment,
hope, and strength to the Houston community, and members of his
congregation, as well as area citizens, are grateful for the
positive influence he has had on their lives; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Reverend
T. C. Lister, Sr., for his outstanding ministry to his church and
to the community and extend to him best wishes for the retirement
years ahead; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
Reverend Lister as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
