SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 142
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School's Third
Annual Eighth Grade Promotion Ceremony, which is taking place on
May 25, 2004; and
WHEREAS, Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter School is
committed to providing a balanced educational program that helps
students achieve their best through meaningful instruction; the
school's collaborations with parents, members of the community,
and business partners are key components in meeting this mission;
over 300 students are enrolled at the school's elementary and
middle school campus in Houston's Fifth Ward or at the McDuffie
Residential Treatment Facility campus; and
WHEREAS, The promotion ceremony is an opportunity for
families, friends, and supporters of the academy to recognize
these young students for their achievements in the 2003-2004
academic year and encourage them to continue to strive for
academic excellence; and
WHEREAS, Through its dedicated teachers and its
challenging curriculum, Northwest Preparatory Academy Charter
School strives to ensure that all its students achieve their
true academic potential and meet rigorous state requirements
in essential knowledge and skills; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Northwest
Preparatory Academy Charter School on its commitment to excellence
in educating Texas' most important treasure, its children, and
extend best wishes for a memorable Third Annual Eighth Grade
Promotion Ceremony; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
the school as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
