SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 145
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to join the citizens of Cypress in recognizing Daniel John Jenson, who recently received the Boy Scout Eagle Award; and WHEREAS, This fine young man displayed outstanding leadership through the planning and execution of a service project which has benefited his community; for his project, Daniel conducted a neighborhood food drive covering some 500 homes; and WHEREAS, Few are privileged to be named among the ranks of the elite corps of Eagle Scouts; only two out of every 100 Boy Scouts earn this distinguished honor; and WHEREAS, Active in scouting since he was six years old, Daniel counts among his treasured experiences two camping excursions to Sea Base Camp off the Florida Keys and the Philmont Trek in New Mexico; and WHEREAS, He is active in the youth ministry at his church and will graduate summa cum laude from Cy-Fair High School in Cypress; he was named a National Merit Commended student and will attend the McCombs Business School at The University of Texas; and WHEREAS, By becoming an Eagle Scout, this personable young man has brought great distinction to himself, his family, his troop, his community, and his state; he is an exceptional representative of the State of Texas and a sterling example to all who have the good fortune to know him; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 78th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Daniel John Jenson for earning the rank of Eagle Scout and congratulate him on his great achievement; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for Eagle Scout Jenson as an expression of the high regard of the Texas Senate.
