SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 184
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Rosemary Telles, who is retiring after 36 years of
outstanding service as a teacher at Marion Manor Elementary
School in the lower valley of El Paso; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary Telles was born and raised in El Paso,
and she graduated from Jefferson High School; she earned her
undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Texas
at El Paso; and
WHEREAS, A schoolteacher who has dedicated her life to
enriching the lives of her students, Rosemary has taught in
bilingual and monolingual classrooms, principally at the
kindergarten and first grade levels; she is retiring from her
position as a dual language teacher; and
WHEREAS, She has been honored as Teacher of the Year for
her exemplary performance in the classroom; and
WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Rosemary Telles has
demonstrated a consistent passion for education, and she has
had a positive influence on the many students she has taught;
she has truly worked for the betterment of the community
through her commitment to preparing young Texans for their
future, and her wisdom, wise counsel, and leadership at
Marion Manor Elementary School will be greatly missed; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend
Rosemary Telles for her many exceptional contributions to
the students of Marion Manor Elementary School and extend to
her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
