SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 204

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the Denton High School girls soccer team, which 
recently won the Class 4A girls state championship title; and
	WHEREAS, The Denton High School Lady Broncos were victorious 
in their fourth appearance at the state tournament in six years, 
defeating Hewitt Midway by a score of 5-1; the Lady Broncos are the 
first 4A girls soccer team to win back-to-back state 
championships; and
	WHEREAS, These young athletes have demonstrated great talent 
and perseverance throughout the school year; team members
Erika Anderson, Rachael Duffy, Valerie Dunn, Natalie Harrison, 
Ashley Hornisher, Jacqueline Horner, Erica Knoll, Callye Lawrence, 
Brittney Lionardi, Sara Montejano, Ezzine Okpo, Kathryne Pollock, 
Julia Plangman, Amanda Regonald, Jennifer Regonald, Candyce Romero,
Theresa Sanches, Lisa Stephens, Ashlee Wilson, Ashley Richards, 
and Kaylin Durmick can take pride in their outstanding performance; 
and
	WHEREAS, Under the superior leadership and expertise of head 
coach Iseed Khoury and assistant coach Jana Puckett and with the 
assistance of trainers Cayce Nelson, Jayme Kiraly, and Ian Scott 
and managers Trevor Khoury, Jess Jobe, Miles Able, and David Windle,
the Lady Broncos have developed exceptional teamwork and discipline; 
and
	WHEREAS, Denton High School and the City of Denton are 
proud of the Lady Broncos for their hard work, their impressive 
skills, and their fine sportsmanship; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
78th Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend the Denton 
High School Lady Broncos for their successful season and congratulate
them on winning the girls Class 4A soccer championship; and, be it 
further
	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
the team as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
