Amend Amendment No. 219 by Alonzo to CSHB 1 (page 250 the 
amendment packet) by striking the text of the amendment and 
substituting the following:
	Amend CSHB 1 in Article III, following the appropriations to 
the Texas Education Agency, by inserting the following 
appropriately numbered rider:
	_____.  Instructional Materials.  Funds appropriated in 
Strategy B.2.1, Instructional Materials, may be expended only on 
continuing contracts for the purchase of instructional materials 
and the instructional materials for the following courses and 
grades:  social studies, grades six through eight; English as a 
second language, kindergarten and grades one through five; United 
States history and advanced placement United States history; 
economics; biology and advanced placement biology.
	If there are funds available in Strategy B.2.1, Instructional 
Facilities, following the purchase of the instructional materials 
described in the preceding paragraph, the funds may be expended on 
instructional materials for the following courses and grades:  
social studies, grades one through five; and world geography.
