Amend Amendment No. 254 by Flynn to CSHB 1 by adding the 
following appropriately numbered item:
	(___). Amend CSHB 1 in Article III of the bill (page III-4), 
by adding the following appropriately numbered rider following the 
appropriations to the Texas Education Agency:
	    . INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS RELATING TO THE EMANCIPATION OF 
SLAVES IN TEXAS.  Out of the funds appropriated above in Strategy 
B.2.1, Instructional Materials, in each year of the biennium the 
agency may set aside an amount of money sufficient to ensure the 
inclusion of the history of the emancipation of slaves in Texas and 
the Juneteenth state holiday in state-approved textbooks.
