Amend Article IX, CSHB 1, on page IX-34, establishing travel 
regulations, by adding a new Section 5.10 to read as follows:
	"Sec. 5.10.  Use of State Vehicles for Certain Travel 
Prohibited.  Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Act, a 
state officer or employee may not use a state-owned motor vehicle to 
drive between destinations during their hours of duty if the 
distance between destinations is one-fourth of a mile or less.  This 
section applies to trips with more than one destination if the 
distance between each destination is one-fourth of a mile or less 
and the return distance from the final destination to the beginning 
destination is one mile or less.  This section does not apply to a 
state officer or employee who is disabled, as that term is defined 
by the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended, 42 U.S.C. § 
12101 etseq."
