Amend CSHB 7 as follows:                                                     
	(1) On page 18, line 18, strike "$9,156,897" and substitute 
"$9,256,897".    
	(2) Add the following appropriately numbered SECTION to the 
bill and renumbering existing SECTIONS appropriately:
	SECTION _____. In addition to any amounts appropriated to the 
House of Representatives by Chapter 1515, Acts of the 77th 
Legislature, Regular Session, 2001 (the General Appropriations 
Act), the amount of $100,000 is appropriated out of the General 
Revenue Fund to the House of Representatives for the purpose of 
funding congressional redistricting hearings to be held by the 
redistricting committee of the House of Representatives during the 
fiscal year ending August 31, 2003, in at least the following 
locations: 

Laredo, McAllen, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Fort 
Worth, Beaumont, Tyler, Waco, El Paso, and Abilene.
	(3) Adjust totals and methods of financing accordingly.
