System updates will be applied on February 19, 2026 at 6:00 PM. These updates will include changes to the user interface. Work is expected to take approximately 30 minutes to complete, during which the site will be unavailable.

	
Amend CSHB 54 as follows:                                                    
	(1) On page 5, line 4, add a period after "misdemeanor".                
	(2) On page 5, strike lines 5 through 9 and substitute the 
following:        
	"(d) Subsection (b) does not apply if the person is related to 
the applicant within the second degree by affinity or the third 
degree by consanguinity, as determined under Subchapter B, Chapter 
573, Government Code, or is registered to vote at the same address 
as the applicant."
	(3) On page 8, line 1, add the following after the period:                     
	"(e) Subsections (a) and (c) do not apply if the person is 
related to the applicant within the second degree by affinity or the 
third degree by consanguinity, as determined under Subchapter B, 
Chapter 573, Government Code, or is registered to vote at the same 
address as the applicant."
	(4) On page 11, line 21, add the following after the period:                   
	"(h) Subsection (f) does not apply if the person is related to 
the applicant within the second degree by affinity or the third 
degree by consanguinity, as determined under Subchapter B, Chapter 
573, Government Code, or is registered to vote at the same address 
as the applicant."
