Amend the Wolens amendment to CSHB 1606 by adding the 
following section:   
	Sec 253.040. REPAYMENT OF LOANS FROM POLITICAL 
CONTRIBUTIONS. (a) A candidate or officeholder who accepts one or 
more loans described by section 251.001 (2) (a) may not repay those 
loans from political contributions in amounts that in the aggregate 
exceed the following in a calendar year:
		(1) for a district office, $100,000; and                                      
		(2) for a statewide office, $500,000.                                         
	(b) A person who is both a candidate and an office holder 
during a calendar year may repay loans from political contributions 
only in one capacity
	(c) A person who violates this section commits an offense.  An 
offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor.
