Amend SB 16  on third reading in SECTION 1 of the bill, in 
added Section 29.089(d), Education Code (House Committee Printing, 
page 1, line 19), after "program.", by inserting the following:

The board may not permit a student to participate in a mentoring 
services program implemented by a private community-based 
organization:
		(1)  unless the board first notifies the parent or 
guardian of the student of the identity of the organization; or
		(2)  if the organization promotes or condones illegal 
behavior.
