Amend SB 266 as follows:                                                     
	(1)  In SECTION 9 of the bill (committee printing, page 4, 
line 69), strike "Section 82.0272" and substitute "Sections 82.0272 
and 82.029".
	(2)  In SECTION 9 of the bill (committee printing, page 5, 
between lines 7 and 8), insert the following:
	Sec. 82.029.  REPORT ON APPLICANTS WHO FAIL EXAMINATION.  
(a)  The Board of Law Examiners shall compile a report indicating 
the number of applicants who fail the July 2003 bar examination.  
The data shall be aggregated by ethnicity and race.  The report 
shall also include the board's recommendation on how the board 
might attempt to reduce the number of applicants who fail the bar 
examination.  The board shall deliver the report to the legislature 
not later than December 31, 2003.
	(b)  This section expires January 1, 2004.
