Amend CSSB 699 as follows:                                                   
	(1)  In SECTION 1 of the bill, in proposed Section 
32.152(b)(2), Education Code (committee printing page 1, lines 31 
and 32), strike "scientifically research-based instructional 
materials" and substitute "instructional materials that have been 
shown to improve academic performance".
	(2)  In SECTION 1 of the bill, in proposed Section 32.155(a), 
Education Code (committee printing page 2, line 30), strike 
"full-time enrolled public school".
	(3)  In SECTION 1 of the bill, in proposed Section 32.155(b), 
Education Code (committee printing page 2, line 37), immediately 
following the period, insert the following:

The criteria must limit the availability of scholarships to 
students who:
(1)  are enrolled in a public school on a full-time 
basis; or          
(2)  were enrolled in a public school on a full-time 
basis for at least three months during the preceding school year and 
indicate an intent to enroll in a public school on a full-time basis 
for at least three months during the school year for which the 
scholarship is offered.
