Amend CSSB 1017 by adding the following appropriately 
numbered SECTION to the bill and renumbering subsequent SECTIONS of 
the bill accordingly:
	SECTION _____.  A person who filed a suit against a county on 
a claim arising under a contract for the sale of goods or for 
engineering or construction services that was dismissed not earlier 
than two years before the effective date of this Act on grounds of 
sovereign immunity may sue the county on that claim as provided by 
Section 262.07, Local Government Code, as added by this Act, on or 
after the effective date of this Act, not withstanding any 
applicable statute of limitations.  This section expires September 
1, 2004.
