Amend CSSB 1017 as follows:                                                  
	(1)  In SECTION 2 of the bill, in added Section 262.007, 
Local Government Code, immediately following the period after the 
section heading (committee printing, page 1, line 23), insert 
"(a)".
	(2)  In SECTION 2 of the bill, at the end of added 
Section 262.007, Local Government Code (committee printing, 
page 1, between lines 29 and 30), insert the following:
	(b)  This section does not waive a defense or a limitation on 
damages available to a party to a contract, other than a defense or 
limitation on damages based on sovereign immunity.
