Amend CSSB 1243 (Senate committee printing) as follows:                      
	(1)  In SECTION 18 of the bill, at the end of amended Section 
9(a)(6), Article 6228a-5, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes (page 5, 
line 23), strike "or" and substitute "[or]".
	(2)  In SECTION 18 of the bill, in amended Section 9(a)(7), 
Article 6228a-5, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes (page 5, line 26), 
immediately after "product", strike the period and insert the 
following:

; or                                                                   
		(8)  accept a bid or award a contract for a qualified 
investment product under this Act or Chapter 609, Government Code, 
that includes proposed financial participation by a company or 
person that participated to any extent in preparing a specification  
or request for proposal on which the bid or contract is based.
	(3)  Strike SECTION 20 of the bill (page 5, lines 46 through 
63) and renumber subsequent SECTIONS of the bill appropriately.
