Amend CSSB 1678 (house committee printing), by adding an 
appropriately numbered SECTION to read as follows and by 
renumbering existing SECTIONS accordingly:
	SECTION _____.  Section 508.040, Government Code, is amended 
by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
	(f)  The presiding officer must have the approval of a 
majority of the members of the board before hiring an applicant for 
the position of parole commissioner.
