DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Currently, all Texas vehicle dealers and converters are required to be
licensed in this state. Converted vehicle dealers who are licensed to sell
towable recreational vehicles, motor homes, ambulances, and fire-fighting
vehicles are exempted from any additional requirements for showing or
selling their products at expositions. Licensed towing converters are the
only vehicle converter not exempted from the prohibition from selling
their product at a show or exhibition. H.B. 850 grants tow truck
converters the same exemption granted to all other converters.

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, institution, or agency.
