SRC-JLB H.B. 871 78(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center H.B. 871 78R2098 SLO-DBy: Casteel (Wentworth) Jurisprudence 5/13/2003 Engrossed DIGEST AND PURPOSE H.B. 871 creates an additional county court at law for Comal County and provides that the County Court at Law No. 2 of Comal County has the same jurisdiction as the current county court at law. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 25.0481, Government Code, as follows: Sec. 25.0481. COMAL COUNTY. Provides that Comal County has two, rather than one, statutory county courts, the County Court at Law No. 1 and the County Court at Law No. 2 of Comal County. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2003. Provides that the County Court at Law No. 2 of Comal County is created on September 1, 2003.
