DIGEST AND PURPOSE

In 1937, the 75th United States Congress passed Public Law No. 415 which
designated the United States Secretary of Agriculture to work in
cooperation with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department on federal aid
for wildlife restoration projects. In 1939, federal law was amended to
transfer the responsibility of these projects from the U.S. Secretary of
Agriculture to the Secretary of the Interior. In practice, the Texas Parks
and Wildlife Department has already adopted this change and has worked
with the U.S Secretary of the Interior; however, Section 83.003 of the
Parks and Wildlife Code was never amended to reflected this change. H.B.
1328 amends the Parks and Wildlife Code to reflect the change in federal
authority in regards to wildlife restoration projects from the Secretary
of Agriculture to the Secretary of the Interior.
