DIGEST AND PURPOSE

In order to preserve the view of the Texas Capitol, there are thirty
"capitol view corridors," specific geographic areas where heights of
buildings and construction projects are restricted in order not to
obstruct the view of the capitol. Under current law, the location of the
Robert Mueller Municipal Airport is one of those areas. H.B. 1499
eliminates the Robert Mueller Municipal Airport's status as a capitol view
corridor, so the City of Austin can redevelop and reuse that area.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, institution, or agency.
