The list of filings does not include motions for modification or motions for contempt. H.B. 1885 provides that clerks are authorized to collect a $15 filing fee for a motion for modification or a motion for contempt. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or institution. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 110.002(a), Family Code, to authorize the clerk of the court to collect a filing fee of $15 in a suit for filing a motion for modification or a motion for contempt. SECTION 2.(a) Effective date: September 1, 2003. (b) Makes application of this Act prospective.
