DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Under current Texas law, the Brazoria County Conservation and Reclamation
District Number Three must obtain public bids for contracts or the
purchase of equipment or materials that have a cost exceeding $2,000.
H.B. 2518 increases from $2,000 to $15,000 the maximum cost of equipment
or material that may be purchased without obtaining public bids.

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, institution, or agency.

machinery, materials or supplies for the district, when the cost price
