DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Subchapter C, Chapter 1508 (Obligations for Municipal Parks, Recreational
Facilities, and Airports), Government Code, was originally enacted in 1935
and made applicable at that time to cities with a population of 230,000 or
more. The legislation authorized the issuance of "revenue bonds, notes
and warrants" for parks and other recreational facilities. H.B. 2889
lowers the applicability of the subchapter from a municipality with a
population of 230,000 or more, to a municipality with a population of
5,000 or more.
