DIGEST AND PURPOSE 

The 77th Texas Legislature created a county court at law in Hood County.
H.B. 3605 expands the court's jurisdiction to include certain contested
guardianship matters. 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, institution, or agency. 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Sections 25.1132(c) and (e), Government Code, as
follows: 

(c)  Provides that a county court at law in Hood County has concurrent
jurisdiction with the district court in contested guardianship matters
under Section 606(b), Texas Probate Code.  Makes conforming changes. 

 (e)  Makes a conforming change.

SECTION 2.  Effective date:  September 1, 2003.
