DIGEST AND PURPOSE 

Currently, elected officials are prohibited from serving as election
judges.  As proposed, S.B. 215 removes the statutory prohibition against
office holders serving as election judges. 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, institution, or agency. 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Repealer: Section 32.052, Election Code (prohibiting a person
who holds an elective public office from serving as an election judge or
clerk). 

SECTION 2.  Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2003.
