DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Under the provisions of a constitutional amendment adopted in 1999, a
state board or commission must be composed of an odd number of three or
more members serving six-year terms, with one-third or as near one-third
as possible of the members' terms expiring every two years. However, some
boards are still composed under the old divisible-by-three rule. S.B. 287
adjusts the board size of a number of state agencies to bring them into
compliance with the 1999 constitutional amendment.
