DIGEST AND PURPOSE
Currently, an election judge or clerk is entitled to compensation for
services rendered at a precinct polling place at a rate which must be at
least the federal minimum hourly wage currently set at $5.15. Entities
which hold elections are having an increasingly difficult task finding
individuals to work polling places on election dates. As proposed, S.B.
321 will set a minimum hourly wage for general election workers at $8 per
hour.
RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, institution, or agency.
