SRC-VRA,S.B. 468 78(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center S.B. 468 78R2098 SLO-DBy: Wentworth Jurisprudence 2/26/2003 As Filed DIGEST AND PURPOSE Due to the continued growth and development of Comal County, there is a need for additional resources to sufficiently address a number of governmental issues. As proposed, S.B. 468 would create an additional county court at law for Comal County with the same jurisdiction as the current county court. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 25.0481, Government Code, to provide that Comal County has two statutory county courts, County Court at Law No. 1 and County Court at Law No. 2 of Comal County. SECTION 2. Provides that the County Court at Law No. 2 is created and this Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
