DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Current law permits school districts to contract with treatment programs
to provide treatment services at alternative schools but does not allow
school districts to do so at regular school locations. School districts
are permitted to contract with other entities to provide similar services
in regular school settings. As proposed, S.B. 564 adds treatment
facilities funded by the Texas Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse to the
list of exempted entities with which school districts may contract for
outpatient services.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, institution, or agency.
