DIGEST AND PURPOSE

The 150,000-member Air Force Association is an independent, nonprofit,
civilian aerospace organization that promotes public understanding of
military aerospace power and national defense. In Texas, there are
approximately 16 local chapters and 19,000 members. As proposed, S.B. 569
requires the Texas Department of Transportation to issue license plates
for passenger cars and light trucks that bear the words "Air Force
Association." A portion of the profits from the sale of the plates will
fund Air Force Association of Texas projects.
