care system.

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, department, institution, or agency.

Regulatory Services (DPRS) to be a person who was a child in the foster
care system.

the terms of the members of the board expire or as vacancies on the board
occur, to make appointments to the board to achieve, as soon as possible,
the membership plan prescribed by Section 40.021, Human Resources Code, as
amended by this Act.

EFFECTIVE DATE

September 1, 2003.

COMPARISON OF ORIGINAL TO SUBSTITUTE

C.S.S.B. 593 varies from the original bill by deleting the proposed
Subsection 40.021 (d), Human Resources Code, and substitutes with language
which provides that one of the members of the board who has a demonstrated
interest in the services provided by the department is recommended to be a
person who was a child in the foster care system.
