S.B. 735 78(R) BILL ANALYSIS

S.B. 735
By: Lindsay
County Affairs
Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
As proposed, S.B. 735 permits county and city officials to be appointed to
serve on boards and
commissions, while prohibiting them from receiving compensation for
serving in that capacity. The bill would allow such officials to be
compensated for expenses incurred in the course of their duties.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY
It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or
institution.

the
implementation of this section.
SECTION 2. Effective date: upon passage or September 1, 2003.
