DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Currently, Texas law includes antiquated requirements for a licensed
out-of-state chiropractor to obtain a provisional license in Texas. For
example, the Texas State Board of Chiropractic Examiners (TBCE) no longer
administers a state board exam. Instead, TBCE now requires successful
completion of the national board exams prior to application for a license
in Texas, in lieu of the state-administered exam. As proposed, S.B. 842
would repeal the antiquated requirements to enable a licensed out-of-state
chiropractor to be licensed in Texas upon meeting certain requirements.
