DIGEST AND PURPOSE

Assistant county auditors are currently capped at a salary increase of 5
percent per year. This has created internal inequity and affected
recruitment efforts in many counties. As proposed, S.B. 1327 provides
counties the flexibility to determine appropriate pay by deleting a
reference to the salary of an assistant county auditor from current Texas
law.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, institution, or agency.
