SRC-TAG, EPT S.B. 1329 78(R) BILL ANALYSIS Senate Research Center S.B. 1329 By: Averitt Natural Resources 4/1/2003 As Filed DIGEST AND PURPOSE Currently, certain weights and measures are required to be inspected by the Texas Department of Agriculture once every three years. As proposed, S.B. 1329 changes the required weights and measures inspections to once every four years. RULEMAKING AUTHORITY This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, institution, or agency. SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS SECTION 1. Amends Section 13.101(a), Agriculture Code, to require at least once every four, rather than three, years, or more often as required by the Texas Department of Agriculture, certain weights or measures to be inspected and tested. SECTION 2. Effective date: September 1, 2003.
