DIGEST AND PURPOSE 

As proposed, S.B. 1341 requires a land title company to give to the
purchaser of a tract of land notice of the subdivision platting
requirements. 

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

This bill does not expressly grant any additional rulemaking authority to
a state officer, institution, or agency. 

SECTION BY SECTION ANALYSIS

SECTION 1.  Amends Subchapter A, Chapter 232, Local Government Code, by
adding Section 232.011, as follows: 

Sec. 232.011.  NOTICE TO PURCHASER OF PLAT REQUIREMENT.  Requires a person
engaged in the business of examining real estate titles for encumbrances,
claims, or flaws, in connection with any purchase of a tract of land, to
give notice to the purchaser of the subdivision platting requirements of
this chapter. 

SECTION 2.  Makes application of this Act prospective to November 1, 2003.

SECTION 3.  Effective date:  September 1, 2003.
