Committee Report (Unamended)

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE

In 1997, the United States Congress enacted the Food and Drug
Administration Modernization Act which deleted or modified numerous
sections of the Federal Food and Drug and Cosmetic Act. The bill revises
the Texas Food and Drug and Cosmetic Act to conform Texas prescription
drug labels to current federal statutes.

RULEMAKING AUTHORITY

It is the committee's opinion that this bill does not expressly grant any
additional rulemaking authority to a state officer, department, agency, or
institution.

ANALYSIS
