A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the jurisdiction of the County Court of Marion County.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 26.258, Government Code, is amended to
read as follows:
Sec. 26.258. MARION COUNTY. The County Court of Marion
County has the general jurisdiction of a probate court, general
criminal jurisdiction, and [but has no other civil or criminal
jurisdiction except] juvenile jurisdiction as provided by Section
26.042(b) but has no other civil [and criminal] jurisdiction [to
receive and enter guilty pleas in misdemeanor cases].
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
