A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the use of pseudonyms for victims of certain criminal
offenses connected to the commission of a sex offense.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Article 57.01(4), Code of Criminal Procedure, is
amended to read as follows:
(4) "Victim" means a person who was the subject of:
(A) an offense the commission of which leads to a
reportable conviction or adjudication under Chapter 62; or
(B) an offense that is part of the same criminal
episode, as defined by Section 3.01, Penal Code, as an offense
described by Paragraph (A) [Article 6252-13c.1, Revised Statutes].
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
