H.B. No. 889




AN ACT
relating to the enforcement of an agreement concerning child support. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 154.124(c), Family Code, is amended to read as follows: (c) Terms of the agreement pertaining to child support in the order may be enforced by all remedies available for enforcement of a judgment, including contempt, but are not enforceable as a contract [terms unless provided by the agreement]. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2003, and applies only to an agreement concerning child support entered into on or after that date. An agreement concerning child support entered into before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law applicable to the agreement before that date, and the former law is continued in effect for that purpose. ______________________________ ______________________________ President of the Senate Speaker of the House I certify that H.B.
