A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT

relating to the authority of property tax consultants to perform 
certain services.
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 1152, Occupations Code, is 
amended by adding Section 1152.003 to read as follows:
	Sec. 1152.003.  AUTHORITY TO PREPARE AND TESTIFY REGARDING 
CERTAIN REPORTS.  A registrant is not required to be licensed under 
Chapter 1101 or licensed or certified under Chapter 1103 to prepare 
an appraisal report or a report regarding equalization issues for 
another person or testify regarding the report in a hearing or suit 
brought under:
		(1)  Section 25.25, Tax Code; or                                       
		(2)  Chapter 41 or 42, Tax Code.                                       
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
