H.B. No. 2063




AN ACT

relating to the employees affected by certain county grievance 
procedures.  
	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:                        
	SECTION 1.  Section 160.002, Local Government Code, is 
amended to read as follows:
	Sec. 160.002.  COUNTIES AND EMPLOYEES AFFECTED.  This 
chapter applies only to a county with a population of more than 2.4 
million and its employees, including but not limited to the 
employees of road and bridge districts, flood control districts, 
[adult probation departments,] and juvenile probation departments 
in the county.  However, this chapter does not apply to the 
employees of a sheriff's department.
	SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2003.
